Unbelievable Views & Luxury: Vivo Jogja Apartment, Yogyakarta!
Alright, buckle up buttercups, because we’re diving headfirst into the glorious, chaotic, and frankly, sometimes unbelievable world of Vivo Jogja Apartment in Yogyakarta! Forget those sterile travel blog reviews – you're getting the real deal, warts and all. I’m talking messy, authentic, and probably a little bit rambling, but hey, that’s life, right? Let's get this show on the road!
First Impressions: Did I Actually Arrive in Luxury? (Maybe?)
Okay, so the name Vivo Jogja Apartment: Unbelievable Views & Luxury sets a HIGH bar. And honestly? It’s a mixed bag. The "Unbelievable Views" part? Nailed it. Seriously, chef's kiss. I'm talking postcard-worthy sunrise panoramas that made me actually consider becoming a morning person (briefly). The "Luxury" part? Well, let's just say it's a Yogya version of luxury. Don't go expecting gold-plated everything. But the apartment? Spacious. Modern-ish. Clean-ish. And the all-important Free Wi-Fi in All Rooms! (I checked, I had to Instagram that sunrise, duh!).
Accessibility: Navigating with Ease (or Not-so-Ease)
Okay, so I need the Accessibility breakdown first. This is important. Wheelchair Accessible? Good question! I didn't personally use a wheelchair, but from what I could see, they have an Elevator, which is HUGE. They also list "Facilities for Disabled Guests" – fingers crossed those are actually accessible facilities, and not just… listed. The Car Park [Free of Charge] is a definite win, and they have Valet Parking, just in case you feel fancy (or, like me, just really, really lazy). They have Facilities for Disabled Guests and Car power charging station, which makes me happy!
Cleanliness and Safety: Pandemic Palooza!
Listen, I’m a total germaphobe, especially post-pandemic. And this place tries. They have almost everything! Anti-viral cleaning products, CHECK. Daily disinfection in common areas, CHECK. Hand sanitizer everywhere you turn, CHECK. Rooms sanitized between stays, CHE…wait…they also offer Room sanitization opt-out available which is very odd. I mean, I appreciated the effort. But I wouldn't have trusted the opt-out. Not with my own momma's life, anyway. They have Staff trained in safety protocol and Professional-grade sanitizing services and Sterilizing equipment. They are also listed with Hygiene certification, and the Safe dining setup is very important to me. They also have CCTV in common areas and outside property.
Dining, Drinking, and Snacking: Feed Me, Seymore!
Food, glorious food! This is where Vivo Jogja gets… interesting. They have Restaurants, plural! Including, I think, a Vegetarian Restaurant (yay!). They offer Breakfast [buffet], Breakfast service and Asian breakfast. And you can get Breakfast in room, which is a godsend when you’re battling jet lag and trying to decide if showering is worth the effort. You can also get a Bottle of water provided…They also have a Poolside bar, so you can sip your cocktail while pretending you’re a jet-setter (even if you’re just a slightly-lost tourist). They even have Happy hour, so now you can act like you are a jet-setter! They also have a Coffee/tea maker, coffee shop, and a Snack bar, and a Coffee/tea in restaurant. And they offer Desserts in restaurant, and Salad in restaurant, and Soup in restaurant.
Here's a confession: the Room service [24-hour]… I ordered it every night. Pasta at 3 AM? Don't judge me. It was amazing. It was also my only time to use the A la carte in restaurant.
The "Unbelievable Views" Pool: My Personal Zen Zone (Mostly)
Okay, let's talk about the Swimming pool [outdoor] with the Pool with view. The Instagram potential here is off the charts. It's truly stunning. I might have spent an entire afternoon just staring at the Yogyakarta skyline from the pool. Pure bliss. BUT and there’s always a but… It was a tad crowded at peak times. So, my advice? Sneak in early, or late. You can also use the Sauna, Spa, and Spa/sauna.
Things to Do (Beyond the Pool): Getting Your Zen On
They have a Fitness center so you can sweat out that aforementioned pasta. They also have a Gym/fitness, Massage, Body scrub, Body wrap, Foot bath. They offer a Steamroom to sweat out the toxins you've accumulated from those cocktails.
Rooms: Are You Ready to Settle in?
The apartments themselves are pretty decent. Air conditioning is a non-negotiable in Yogyakarta. Free Wi-Fi [free] is, as always. The Additional toilet was a surprise bonus. The Blackout curtains were a lifesaver. The Bathtub was… well, it was there. They have Coffee/tea maker for the morning and Desk to handle work. There's are Extra long bed in which I really enjoyed. In-room safe box is safe to store expensive things, and I was able to use Internet access – wireless. They also have a Laptop workspace. There's a Mini bar to keep drinks cold and a Mirror for vanity. The Private bathroom is a necessity, and a Refrigerator is available. They have a Seating area for me to relax and Separate shower/bathtub. The Shower and Slippers were also available. The Soundproofing was not amazing.
Services and Conveniences: They Thought of Almost Everything!
They have 24-hour front desk. They offer Airport transfer to or from the Airport. They have Babysitting service and are Family/child friendly. They have a Cash withdrawal service, a Concierge desk, and Convenience store to get snacks. And they offer Breakfast takeaway service. They have a Dry cleaning service. They offer an Elevator to make you work harder. If you want to keep in shape you can use Fitness center. They have a Food delivery service. There are Indoor venue for special events and Invoice provided. They offer Ironing service and Laundry service. They also have Luggage storage. If you want to relax together they have a Couple's room. A Daily housekeeping service is also available. They have Meeting/banquet facilities.
Things That Could Be Better… Because Nothing's Perfect
- The soundproofing in my room could have been better. I could hear my neighbor's… uh… enthusiastic karaoke attempts. It wasn't great.
- The "luxury" aspect is a bit… soft. It's comfortable, but not overwhelmingly lavish.
The Final Verdict: Should You Book? YES! (With a Few Caveats)
Look, Vivo Jogja Apartment isn't flawless. But it's a solid choice, especially if you're craving those "Unbelievable Views." The location is great (close to everything!), the staff is friendly, and the fact that they really tried with the cleaning and safety measures is reassuring.
My Quirky Takeaway:
I loved the pool, I loved the room service, and I loved not having to make my own breakfast. The imperfections made it feel real, and not just a perfect, sterilized hotel.

Escape to Paradise: The Lama House's Unbelievable Manali Retreat
Okay, buckle up, buttercups, because this isn't your grandma's travel itinerary. This is surviving, thriving, and possibly slightly regretting (in a good way) Yogyakarta from the vibrating heart of Vivo Jogja Apartemen. Prepare for a rollercoaster of emotions, questionable food choices, and the distinct scent of humid batik.
Day 1: Arrival & The Great Batik Baptism (Or, How I Became a Human Canvas)
- 6:00 AM (ish): Wake up in Jakarta. Or, more accurately, dragged kicking and screaming from a blissful dream of not traveling ever. The flight better be on time. Please, aviation gods, bless my journey.
- 9:00 AM (give or take a volcanic ash cloud): Land at Adisucipto International Airport (JOG). Humidity hits me like a wet, warm, comforting hug. Actually, that's not bad. Follow the throngs of people, grab my pre-booked Grab (taxi app - life-saver!), and pray they understand "Vivo Jogja Apartemen." It's a mouthful for a tired brain.
- 10:00 AM: Check-in at Vivo Jogja. Ah, the sweet, sweet A/C. My room is…okay. Clean enough. The view is mostly a parking lot, but I'm not here to stare at inanimate objects. I'm here to be immersed.
- 11:00 AM (ish): First, a strategic nap. Jet lag is a beast.
- 2:00 PM: Fuel up! I'm craving Nasi Goreng Jawa (fried rice) from some local warung (small eatery). Finding a good one is crucial. It's like the holy grail of Indonesian cuisine. If it's bad, I'll eat it anyway because Indonesian food is just like that.
- 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM: First serious activity and I'm already having second thoughts - Batik Workshop at Beringharjo Market. God help me. I'm artistically challenged. I'm going to wind up wearing tie-dye and looking like a tourist that's just given up on life. Hopefully, I'll produce something that vaguely resembles art. Maybe I'll become the next great batik artist - HA!
- (Anecdote): Okay, so, Beringharjo market is a sensory overload. Colors, smells, the incessant calls of vendors…it's a happy chaos, but the first thing that hit me was the smell. The smell of damp batik. It's like the smell of a museum, but it also kind of smells like old socks. But I digress. My batik attempt? Let's just say it's unique. It's… abstract. I think the instructor was trying not to laugh. My masterpiece now lives at the bottom of my backpack.
- 7:00 PM: Dinner at a restaurant in the Prawirotaman area, known as the "tourist haven". I'll probably get ripped off. I will eat seafood. I will probably order too much. I'll try and ask for some spicy food too, because, well, why not? The real question is: Are they going to charge me extra for ice in the drink?
- 8:30 PM: Stumbling back to the hotel, stomach full of seafood, feeling slightly sunburnt. The motorbike traffic is insane, and I'm pretty sure I almost got run over by a bajaj (three-wheeled taxi). Note to self: Look both ways ALL THE TIME.
Day 2: Temples, Monkeys, and Motorcycle Mayhem
- 7:00 AM: Wake up with an actual sense of purpose. (or maybe it's the intense heat that always does that). Fuel up with some instant coffee (I'm not a morning person. I need the caffeine).
- 8:00 AM: I hired a car to take me to Borobudur (massive buddhist temple) and Prambanan (Hindu temple). Because I'm lazy and can't bring myself to ride a motorcycle… not yet.
- (Impression): Borobudur – the sheer scale of the thing is mind-boggling. I climbed some stairs and got to the top of the temple and felt like I'd actually achieved something. The energy is amazing, peaceful, spiritual… and the monkeys are cheeky little devils. Don't carry food. Learned that the hard way.
- Prambanan: My head is now full of ancient history. Pictures do not do it justice. I could probably spend a week there just wandering, taking pictures, and enjoying myself.
- 1:00 PM: Eat lunch. I'm going to try the local street food: Gado-gado. Oh, and ice-cold tea.
- 3:00 PM: Back to the apartment. Take a nap. This is non-negotiable.
- 5:00 PM: I'm going to try and get out and get a ride on a motorbike. Wish me luck. It feels more like a necessary skill than a recreational activity.
- 7:00 PM: Dinner at a more local restaurant. Get out of the tourist zone. I'm sure it's a different world. Try some street food.
- 9:00 PM: I'll attempt to go back to the apartment by myself, and pray I can find my way back. Wish me luck.
Day 3: The Sultan's Palace, the Water Castle, and the "Lost" Day
- 9:00 AM: Finally, sleep in because I can.
- 10:00 AM: Do the Sultan's Palace, Kraton Yogyakarta. The palace is an excellent example of Javanese architecture. Lots of gold and red and a general feeling of history.
- 12:00 AM: The Water Castle, Taman Sari. I would like to find the way to the secret underwater mosque.
- 2:00 PM: Lunch and chill.
- 4:00 PM: I have no plans. I'll attempt to revisit Beringharjo Market to look for some spices.
- 6:00 PM: I will eat dinner.
- 7:00 PM: I'll probably go back to the apartment, and listen to some music.
Day 4: Goodbye, Yogyakarta (And the Questionable Food Choices)
- 9:00 AM: Pack. Sigh.
- 10:00 AM: Eat breakfast.
- 12:00 PM: Leave Vivo Jogja Apartemen, taxi to the airport.
- 2:00 PM: The flight.
- 5:00 PM: Arrive back home.
- Note: I'm pretty sure I'll be craving Nasi Goreng Jawa for weeks, but I will absolutely be taking a break from motorcycles!
Final Ramblings:
Yogyakarta is… a lot. It's sensory overload at times, beautiful, frustrating, and delicious. It's a place that burrows under your skin and refuses to let go. I'll need a vacation from this vacation, but I'll be back. Just maybe with more courage when it comes to the street food.

Vivo Jogja Apartment: Your Jaw Will Drop (Probably) - Honest FAQs
Okay, spill. Is the view *really* as amazing as the pictures? I'm a sucker for a good sunrise.
Alright, confession time. I’ve seen a LOT of Instagram-perfect views in my life, and I'm usually cynical. "Photoshop," I whisper. "Exaggerated!" But... the Vivo Jogja view? Dude. It’s legit.
I woke up at 5:30 AM the first morning, practically vibrating with anticipation. The sun *freaking* exploded over the Merapi volcano. I think I actually gasped. I was wearing my PJs, messy hair, looking like I'd been dragged through a bush, but I didn't care. I was transfixed.
It IS a bit dependent on the weather, of course. One morning was a misty, moody affair, which was still beautiful, just less "OMG, FIRE IN THE SKY!" and more "contemplative sunrise". But still…pretty darn good.
Is the "luxury" part just a bunch of shiny surfaces and a hefty price tag? I'm on a budget, kinda.
Okay, so luxury *can* mean different things to different people, right? For me, it's not about gold faucets (though, admittedly, I wouldn’t *object*...). It's about feeling *pampered* and *comfortable*.
Vivo Jogja definitely leans into that feel. The apartment I stayed in (a studio, cause budget, remember?) was sleek, modern, and spotless. The bed? Heavenly. I literally sunk into it and almost never wanted to get out. And, crucially, the AC worked *fantastically* – Yogyakarta heat is no joke!
The price? Let's just say it's not hostel-level cheap. BUT, considering location, the view, and the overall experience, I actually think it's pretty reasonable. I mean I’ve spent more on a crummy hotel with a noisy street view elsewhere. Plus, it felt different. If you're looking for a splurge (or you're secretly loaded!) this is your place. But yes, it's not for the super-frugal.
What's the deal with the amenities? Pool? Gym? Do they actually *work*?
Ah, the amenities. This is where things get a *little*… realistic. The pool is lovely, I'll give them that. Crystal clear, with a solid view. I fully intended to spend hours floating around, sipping a mocktail (because I wasn't splashing out on booze!).
Then, the *first* time I went down, it was closed for "maintenance." Sigh. Okay, fine. Second attempt? Overcrowded with kids having a pool party. It was *amazing* to watch, truly. But, my chill pool float dream quickly evaporated. So, pool: potentially great, results may, um, vary.
The gym? I… didn’t use it. I *intended* to. My plan was to wake up, have an amazing breakfast, do a quick workout, chill by the pool, repeat. That didn't happen. Breakfast was indeed amazing. The view from the balcony was just too good.
There's also a restaurant and I did enjoy a room service experience. The choices weren't crazy but were perfectly adequate.
How's the location? Is it easy to get around and see the sights? I want to explore!
The location is good, not *perfect*, but…good. It's not slap-bang in the middle of the super-touristy stuff, which is actually a plus, I think. It means you escape the absolute madness (and sometimes, the price gouging!).
You're definitely going to want to use Gojek or Grab (ride-sharing apps) to get around. Taxis are around, but you'll probably pay more. The traffic in Yogyakarta can be… intense. Factor that in when you're planning your adventures.
Borobudur Temple? Relatively easy to get to, even if it’s a bit of a drive. Prambanan Temple? Same story. Malioboro Street (the heart of the shopping/food scene)? Doable with a Gojek ride. Just plan ahead, and don't expect to walk *everywhere*. And for goodness sake, avoid peak traffic times!
What was the BEST thing about your stay, the "wow" moment?
Honestly? It was the sunrise. But, okay, not just the sunrise *itself*. It was the whole *experience* of it. Picture this:
The coffee machine is running. The apartment is silent, except for the gentle hum of the AC. The sky is slowly turning this incredible shade of orange, like someone's painting the heavens. And I'm there, in my ridiculous oversized t-shirt, clutching a mug, completely *lost* in the moment. No emails, no phone calls, no to-do lists. Just me, the sunrise, and the feeling of pure, unadulterated peace.
I think I actually teared up a little. Don't judge me. It was beautiful. It was a total escape. And that, my friends, is worth more than any gold faucet.
Any downsides? Things you weren't thrilled about?
Okay, gotta be honest. One minor thing: the noise level from the street can be a *little* noticeable at times, depending on your room's exact location. Not a dealbreaker, totally, but if you're a super-sensitive sleeper, pack earplugs.
Also, housekeeping services are a bit, shall we say, variable. Not always perfectly consistent. I had to ask twice for fresh towels. Again, not a disaster, just…slightly less flawless than the promotional photos might suggest.
And, okay, I'm being *super* picky here, but the elevators are a bit slow, especially during peak times. I'm impatient. I confess.
Would you go back? Give it to me straight.
Absolutely. 💯. I’d go back in a heartbeat. In fact, I’m already mentally planning a return trip. The view, the comfort, the general vibe… it was exactly what I needed.
Yeah, there are some minor imperfections, but frankly, I find the whole “perfection” thing a little boring. Vivo Jogja is amazing, mostly. And, like real life, It’s not always perfect, but it's still aChicstayst
